Construction Progress Measurement

CPM is used to accomplish different aspects of construction project. This can be from simple document control log to elaborate progress measurement system. Document management is the vital part of CPM.

CPM can be primarily split into to two major modules via, Field Management and Progress measurement. Field Management module comprises of document log, packages, meeting minutes, RFI, transmittals and daily reports. Each module is highly customizable based on the necessity of the client or project CPM is used for. All the sub modules are inter linked allowing us to seamlessly track the movement a record from document log to sending an email from the transmittal module. We have some predefined reports in every module and also a separate reports building section which lets user to build self-custom reports and save it for future use. Every form has an import and export tool, this helps us to fetch data from and to excel for further analysis.

Progress measurement is a crucial component of effective Project Management. It will be the root for many important decisions throughout the life of the project. Effective progress measurement helps to identify variances in the plan early enough in the project life cycle to mitigate their potential negative impacts. Ineffective progress measurement is costly, provides no useful data, and can obscure the real issues. Actual progress is determined by measuring quantities installed and calculating earned man hours. Actual progress is compared to the planned progress to determine project progress status.

Construction worksheets are issued to the field to summarize the scope of work to be performed. These work sheets serve as the means for collecting and reporting installed quantities. The identified work steps help the foreman understand the scope of work to be performed, the units of measure for quantity reporting, the hours that have been allocated to perform the work and the bar codes required for time capture.
